Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), which refers to a range of housing solutions tailored specifically for individuals with significant functional impairments or very high support needs. The primary goal of SDA is to streamline access to necessary supports. Typically, SDA arrangements involve shared living with a small group of individuals. Alternatively, depending on individual requirements and circumstances, one may choose independent living within SDA.
Funding for SDA covers the costs associated with the physical structure of the home or building. However, occupants are generally responsible for rent and other personal expenses. It's essential to clarify that SDA funding does not include the provision of services or support within the living environment.
Individualized Living Options (ILO)
Introducing a recent addition to the suite of NDIS supports: Individualised Living Options (ILO). This support service is designed to empower individuals with disabilities to reside in a home of their choice while receiving tailored assistance. With ILO, individuals have the freedom to select their living arrangements, location, and housemates according to their preferences.
It's important to note that ILO does not involve the direct provision of housing; rather, it offers a flexible package of supports personalized to the individual's needs within their chosen residence. At Abilitypath, we are committed to closely collaborating with you to determine the necessary steps to begin your ILO journey.
